To educate, to restore
In April 03, at the conclusion of the course "Educating to restore" we held an award ceremony and diplomas to graduates, women imprisoned in the Gherla Penitentiary Cluj Department . The ceremony took place at the office of Rescue Foundation, and those 14 participants watched this output as a reward for their efforts.
In opening the meeting Roxana Cocalea social worker, coordinator of the project spoke about the activities of the project, the project's strengths and weaknesses, emphasizing the relationship and the friendship which was formed and remained among participants. Simona Decean by her message (usingthe narrative and of the pencil) highlighted the "five great qualities that you need to keep them alive:
1. The pen can write great things, but always is a hand that leads him. Even so our life is in God's hand. He always guides us according to His will.
2. From time to time must stop writing and used sharpener. So,is important to know how to bear some pains, because they make us better.
3. The pencil always allows us to use an eraser to erase what's wrong. We must understand that to correct is not necessarily a bad thing, it is important to go back and keep us on the right path.
4. The pencil is not its wooden exterior's, but mine inside. Likewise, we must take care of what is happening within us.
5. The pencil always leave a trail. Likewise, knowing that everything we do in our lives leave traces, so we must try to be aware of our every deed. Our guest from Germany, Cristian Pantea, spoke to participants about the change which occurred 16 years ago in his life. How God changed a thief recidivist, with five convictions, in a hard worker, a family man integrated into society and with a good reputation.
The presentations were received with keen interest and questions and discussions continued around the table (pizza, cake, juice and coffee) who were served in the second part of the meeting.
Both inmates and prison staff attended the meeting asked us to organize other similar projects.
